Pregancy isn't that bad!

The other day I read somebody's status on Facebook, and it was a girl who was complaining about how much she hates being pregnant and it made me sad. I know that it's not all peaches and cream, but you're carrying your CHILD...how is that not a labor of love? What if your child heard you saying that? I know it's silly but I think pregnancy is really wonderful and so special..every time I see my little bump everything that is hurting just fades.

Although I'm still considered to be in the "honeymoon" of pregnancy, I have had a few aches and pains and "not fun" stuff. The heat is especially bad for me. We've had record breaking heat lately in Gainesville, so I try to stay in as much as possible. This weekend we did go out a few times, but luckily Sunday was rainy all day and it really cooled things down. When I get heated up, it's hard for me to cool down, thanks to this little space heater I'm growing. I get winded pretty easily, too, although since I've been trying to walk in the evenings it hasn't been as bad.

Then there's my bladder. It was small before a tiny person was laying on it, now it wont' hold any amount of liquid before I have to go to the bathroom. This morning I had a media assist, so I went to the bathroom, and had to go again after I got to the hospital! It's ridiculous. And I have trouble getting it all out, so I'm just sitting there with a marathon pee session where it comes out like a tiny stream.

I know it's going to get harder before he gets here, but I'm trying to enjoy every second of it, even the bad ones. You're only pregnant for the first time once. I mean, next time I'll have another child to take care of, so it's not going to be the same! I'm also going to come back and read this post when I'm 8 months pregnant and it's still 90 degrees in October. :)

  1. Totally, totally agree! I hear people complaining all the time about their back hurting, their hips hurting, being nauseous, etc. Well, guess what - that's part of being pregnant! I've been lucky too that I haven't had any major issues, but that doesn't mean that I don't hurt! On most days, my ribs feel like they could burst apart at any minute and my feet ache so bad from the extra weight I'm carrying around - but I typically don't complain. I just know that it means I'm growing a healthy little (or, uh, maybe over 6 pounds is considered big...haha!) baby inside of me. And it is an experience that I absolutely wouldn't trade for ANYTHING! I'm glad someone else feels the same way I do! :)

  2. I couldn't agree more. I LOVED being pregnant!! It really is the most amazing feeling in the world...the little kicks that say "I love you Mommy!" I had my share of hip pain, but it really didn't matter. I was a little sad when she was born and I had to share her with everyone. So I'm selfish. I never thought about the next pregnance being different (not enjoyed as much) with a little one running around, so I'm glad I enjoyed the first one so much. Keep enjoy it...it really is worth all the aches and pain!

  3. WHAT? You mean it isn't a horrible experience? Oh wait, that is supposedly AFTER that baby is born and your kid is a brat and bossy and mouthy. At least that is what everyone at work seems to tell me.

I'm sure you will still love it even around Thanksgiving when you are waddling around like a butterball turkey getting ready to HAVE your own turkey baby. ;-)

    Whoo-hoo!! 116 days to goooooo!!!!
